A HEAVY metal double header will rock The Grand in Clitheroe on Saturday, January 29th.
Featuring "The Quireboys" and "Heavy Metal Kids", this is a night dedicated to hot and hard heavy metal.
Once managed by Sharon Osbourne, The Quireboys had huge success in the 1980s and '90s and toured worldwide after the success of their album "A Little Bit of What You Fancy". They have toured with some of the biggest names on the planet including The Rolling Stones, Guns 'n' Roses, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, and Iggy Pop.
Also appearing, the Heavy Metal Kids are fronted by actor/musician John Altman, better known to soap fans as Nasty Nick Cotton, from Eastenders.
Last October marked the 25th anniversary of the band's original frontman Gary Holton, also an actor and best known as Wayne in "Auf Wiedersehen Pet". Having been a close friend of Gary's and working alongside him in the iconic film "Quadrophenia", Altman feels that being able to perform in Gary's place is the greatest form of respect he could ever pay to his departed friend.
The Heavy Metal Kids will be performing a rage of tracks from their albums "Anvil Chorus" and "Kitsch" as well as a selection from their forthcoming album "Uncontrollable".
The gig starts at 7 p.m.
