Whalley ladies putt in the effort for Cancer Research

THE ladies’ section of Whalley Golf Club held their annual charity fund-raising coffee morning in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Lady Captain Mrs Ann Pollard gave an enthusiastic welcome to everyone and said she was thrilled to see so many members and visitors at the club and hoped everyone would have an enjoyable day.

There was an excellent response and the club was full to capacity with ladies browsing the stalls. They included an array of delicious homemade cakes and savouries, tombola, bring and buy, raffle and a selection of hand-made cards. There was also a display of jewellery and accessories by Precious of Whalley. Finally, a Nearly New Clothes sale was included for the first time this year, which proved to be very successful. Coffee, tea and biscuits were also served.

Lady Captain Ann thanked everyone for their support and. due to the excellent response and generosity of all invoved. the club managed to raise £2,250 for Cancer Research UK.
