An application has been submitted to planning chiefs for a former Clitheroe charity shop.

Members of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s planning committee will discuss plans for 16 Castle Gate, which used to be the Sue Ryder charity shop on the ground floor with storage areas on the first and second floors.

The application submitted by Mr M. Fletcher and Mr G. Wilkinson proposes to continue the use of the ground floor of the property as a shop specialising in running clothing, shoes and equipment.

Meanwhile, the applicants propose to use the first floor for consulting rooms for sports related therapy and treatments including orthotics, podiatry, bio-mechanics, physiotherapy and sports therapy. This will be run mainly on an appointments basis.

It is proposed to use the second floor as a one bedroomed flat.

The building, which has been vacant for some time, is in need of renovation.
