Enjoying delightful sweet treats might mean a guilt trip for most of us, but customers and friends of the Cupcake Boutique in Swan Courtyard, Clitheroe, will be raising money for Cancer Research UK as they literally have their cake – and eat it!

Cupcake Boutique is working in close conjunction with the cancer charity’s Clitheroe branch shop and other supporters of the evening include HDBrows by Claire, My Chocolate Heaven, Fabulous and Whalley Wine Shop.

Natalie Owens who has run the business for past 18 months with her partner, Lex, said:“My partner and I have, unfortunately, had experience of cancer in both of our families, so research into the disease is something we are very interested in and a cause very close to our hearts.

“The ladies who work in the Clitheroe Cancer Research UK shop are very supportive of us and have agreed to come along on the night to speak about cancer awareness and the importance of raising funds for this very worthwhile cause.”

The event takes place on Saturday, June 29th from 7-30 p.m. and customers will be invited to taste, score and grade some of the shop’s yummy delicacies to be in with the chance of winning the prize of a giant cupcake at the end of the night.

A limited number of tickets for the event are still available from the shop priced at £10 each, with all proceeds going directly to Cancer Research UK.
