The latest winner of Shop Clitheroe, the loyalty card scheme run by Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce, is lifelong Clitheroe resident Norman Hornby.
Married to Patricia they have two sons, four grandchildren and five weeks ago became great grandparents for the first time. Now retired Norman worked all his life as a painter and decorator, latterly at Calderstones Hospital and in retirement enjoys walking and amateur dramatics.
When told he had won the prize of £50 worth of Shop Clitheroe vouchers Norman said: “This is great, I am amazed that I’ve won. We do most of our shopping in Clitheroe as we have a good selection of local shops and businesses and this is the icing on the cake. I think Shop Clitheroe is a great way to encourage people to shop in Clitheroe and everyone should carry one. ”
Presenting Norman with his vouchers Nuala, from Callooh!Callay!, said: “We are pleased to support Shop Clitheroe at our Alice in Wonderland themed quirky vintage tea rooms at 5 Moor Lane where we specialise in a variety of blended loose leaf teas severed in vintage china. Why not call in for our renowned afternoon teas and then visit The Rabbit Hole upstairs where there is a selection of secondhand books, records, and collectables?”
Shop Clitheroe cards are free to all customers and can be picked up at Elan Boutique, Castlegate, Clitheroe Dry Cleaners, 23 Wellgate, and Raffia Gifts, 38 King Street.
