Staff at BMI Gisburne Park Hospital marked a day of recognition as part of International Nurses’ Day today (Friday) with a special cake cutting ceremony
Gabrielle Williams, clinical services manager, also created a historical presentation of nurses during the First World War to coincide with the centenary of the end of the war later this year.
The special day, held each year on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, marks the contribution made by nurses and healthcare workers around the world.
Sue Walsh, director of clinical services at the hospital, said: “International Nurses Day is a chance for us to recognise the fantastic commitment of healthcare staff, not just here at our hospital but worldwide.”
A recent report from the independent survey company Quality Health, the same firm that assesses feedback for the NHS, showed that 99% of patients would recommend the hospital to their family and friends.
