Once again Stage Two Downham are hoping to entertain you, this time with a play by Michael Palin.
Faced with a family gathering, world-weary Stephen Febble does his best to be difficult. When the family come to stay - together with a dog and a precocious teenager, it is enough to make him reach for the whisky! When yet more friends arrive for dinner, plus an unknown guest, he loses the will to live!
A grumpy old man, a world weary wife and some unwelcome visitors, Michael Palin has written a comedy, yes, but with a darker side, which might ring a few bells for many of us.
The Weekend is a play which looks closely at family values, and is both funny and thought provoking.
It runs from Wednesday, November 29th, to Saturday, December 2nd, at Downham Village Hall at 7-30pm.
Tickets can be obtained via the website - firstname.lastname@example.org, the ticket hotline - 07845926295 and the Tourist Information Centre - 01200 425566.
For £22, a meal deal can be enjoyed at The Assheton Arms which includes a two course meal plus a soft drink/glass of wine and a ticket for the play. To book a table phone 01200 441227.
