A former Bowland High School pupil has been appointed as a partner at a Clitheroe architectural firm Sunderland Peacock and Associates.

Philip Cottier, who has worked for the firm for 17 years since leaving school, has been appointed Director of the Practice. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, an elected professional member of the RICS, and also has a Masters Degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Cost Management.

As an elected member of the Chartered Surveyors’ 1938 Club, Philip has previously won the Club Prize for attaining a standard of excellence in the North West which was judged to be of the highest quality by a team of RICS experienced assessors. His focus and fields of specialism include architectural design, project management, and RICS Building Surveys.

Philip is also former Chairman, and currently Vice Chairman of the RICS Lancashire Matrics, the organisation which encourages and supports young professional Surveyors, giving a network and a voice for its members, thereby supporting the future of the profession.

An avid Burnley Football fan, Philip has been a season ticket holder since childhood. When not cheering on his beloved Burnley, he enjoys five-a-side football, cycling, walking and playing golf and is husband to Kelly and father to 2-month-old Sophia Grace.
