The fire broke out just before 4-30am today (Tuesday) and 27 crew members were sent to the scene.

Burnley and Nelson crews initially attended with support from Hyndburn’s aerial ladder platform to assist in firefighting operations. Firefighters located the fire on the first floor of the property, which had spread to the roof. Crews used breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to tackle the fire alongside the aerial ladder platform.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "It was initially unclear whether there were any persons trapped inside the property, however, firefighters were able to carry out a full search and confirm there was no-one inside.

"Fire crews have brought the fire under control, however, are still in attendance monitoring for any hotspots of signs of fire spread."
