Is your little one heading to school for the first time today?
Are you gushing with pride after seeing your child in uniform? Then why not share snaps of the “new pupils” with the readers of the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times?
Schools across the Ribble Valley are opening their doors after the long summer holidays and hundreds of parents across the borough will no doubt be fighting back tears when their little ones go through the school gates for the first time today.
To mark this special moment, we are asking our readers to send pictures of their kids as they get ready for their first day at school. Why not send a selfie of you and your child leaving the house or waving goodbye at the school gates?
We have already been sent an adorable picture of four-year-old Matilda Hammond, who lives in Waddington with her mum and dad, Mark and Katie and little brother, Harry. Matilda starts her first day at Waddington and West Bradford Primary School today. Katie, who is a reporter at the Clitheroe Advertiser, said: “Today will be a happy and emotional day for everyone whose children are starting school. We are very proud of Matilda and can’t wait to see her join her classmates for their first day. Good luck to everyone and tissues at the ready!”
