Three fire crews were called out to a fire this afternoon at premises used as a bar and social centre in a Ribble Valley village.

Three fire engines and crews - two from Clitheroe and one from Hyndburn - responded to reports of a fire at Three Rivers Park, West Bradford, at just before 4pm.

However, on arrival firefighters found there was no fire to extinguish, but that a fluorescent light fitting had overheated and had generated smoke.

They subsequently isolated the electric supply to the fitting and made it safe.
