Father and sons in court after wine bar fracas
Vernon Charles Yerkess (42) Harrison Charles Yerkess (18) and Benjamin Charles Yerkess (22) all of Padiham Road, Sabden, are each charged with affray at Brady’s Wine Bar.
Vernon Yerkess is aso charged with assaulting door supervisor Thomas Davison, racially aggravated threatening behaviour and threatening behaviour.

Hide AdHarrison and Benjamin Yerkess are also charged with assaulting Mr Davison, assaulting door supervisor Jabber Khan, racially aggravated assault on Mr Khan, racially aggravated threatening behaviour and threatening behaviour.
Vernon Yerkess elected to be tried at Preston Crown Court and all three were remanded on bail to appear there. After the incident on Sunday, February 21st, at the bar in Queen Street the police officer in charge of the investigation, Sgt Chris Valentine, took the unprecedented step of calling for calm on social media after the incident prompted an avalanche of debate and comments.
Sgt Valentine said he wanted to send out a clear warning to people that social media was not the right forum to discuss incidents of this nature.
