A Sports and Exercise Science student from the Ribble Valley has been awarded Myerscough College’s Outstanding Student of the Year Award.

Tonicha Moorby (18) of Clitheroe will follow her dream of becoming a high school physical education teacher by starting a BA Honours degree in physical education and school sports at Edgehill University in September.

With support from her Myerscough tutors, Tonicha completed a 90 credit diploma which topped up her college course to a level 3 extended diploma, in which she achieved the highest grades possible. At her graduation ceremony, she was also awarded the distinguished Outstanding Student of the Year Award.

In addition to her two part time jobs at Claire’s Accessories and the Edisford Bridge pub in Clitheroe, Tonicha plays netball and is the trampolining Lancashire and North West Champion.
