‘Outstanding’ Downham pre-school to stage open day

DOWNHAM Pre-School will open its doors to prospective parents and pupils on Saturday, April 28th, between 2 and 4 p.m.

Everyone is welcome at the open day, which will feature a magic show, planting seeds provided by Homebase, crafts, a number trail and a Gazegill Organics barbecue and other refreshments. The popular pre-school will also be running “Stay and Play” sessions from Monday, April 30th, to Friday, May 4th, between 1 and 3 p.m.

A recent OFSTED report awarded the pre-school grade one or “Outstanding” in every aspect of its provision. The inspection found Downham Pre-School’s overall effectiveness in early years provision, its leadership and management, the quality of provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage and outcomes for children were all of the highest standard expected.

Downham Pre-School is a registered charity and qualifies for Nursery Education funding. It takes pupils aged two-and-a-half to four and offers morning, lunchtime and afternoon sessions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
