It certainly was a very good day indeed – whatever your preferred language – when Oakhill College, Whalley, celebrated the European Day of Languages.
This regular event added another dimension to the children’s lives as they learned about other cultures and languages across their school day.
or instance, the signs around school were translated into French, Spanish and Greek and classes were welcome by their teachers using a variety of languages.
But probably the most popular feature of the day was lunch as pupils sat down to a meal of paella, albondigas and tortilla followed by tasty orange and almond cakes, lovingly prepared by the creative catering team.
It was universally agreed that lunch was indeed – délicieux, delicioso, nóstima.
