A LONG-SERVING head teacher of a Clitheroe primary school has announced his departure.

Mr Vincent Murray, who has been at St Michael and St John’s RC Primary School for the past 18 years, has been appointed head teacher at the Federation of Our Lady and St Hubert with St Wulstan’s Primary School at Great Harwood.

In a letter sent to parents announcing the news on Monday, Mr Murray said: “I have been at St Michael & John’s for 18 of the happiest years of my life and it will be a great wrench when the time finally comes to say goodbye.”

Mr Murray will leave the school at the end of the summer term on Friday July 19th.
