The Bishop of Blackburn, the Rt Rev. Julian Henderson, visited St Leonard’s Primary School, Balderstone, to present a Church School Distinctiveness Award from Blackburn Diocese.

The award was presented in recognition of the work the pupils, teachers and staff had done in making their mission statement “Love God, Love Learning, Love Each Other” central to school life.

The Bishop led a short worship and presented the award to the oldest and youngest children in the school, Holly Pilkington and Hasiba Hingaliya. He then stayed for refreshments with members of the school and church community.
