Clitheroe resident Kath Chisholm enjoyed a festive surprise when she found out that she had won an iPad in Accrington and Rossendale College’s prize draw.
The competition was held during the College’s “Choices” event at The Grand in Clitheroe, which provided advice and guidance to local young people. Kath, who attended the event with her daughter, entered the draw and proved the eventual winner.
“I was really pleased to win the iPad and the most difficult thing was trying to keep it a secret so we could surprise my children when we went to the presentation!” exclaimed Kath.
“As well as winning the iPad I also attended a Level 2 Customer Service course with the new academy in Clitheroe, which I enjoyed immensely and which boosted my confidence, so it’s been a really great experience all around. The iPad will be shared by everyone in the family, but it was fantastic to see how my children enjoyed playing with it and it makes a great early Christmas present!”
Event organiser Trish Fish explained: “We offered the iPad raffle as an incentive to bring young people into the Choices event at The Grand and judging from the turnout it worked.
“We gave out advice and guidance about different courses during the period and helped a lot of young people begin to make decisions about their future. Importantly, we also recruited several young people onto our courses and will look forward to welcoming them in the future!”
Kath had cause for a double celebration as she was also presented with her Level 2 Customer Service course certificate on the day. Both presentations were made by Accrington and Rossendale College vice-principal Sue Collinge.
