Police are appealing for information after a traffic warden was verbally abused in a Clitheroe street.

Around 3-30 pm on Sunday, March 9th, the victim, who is Asian, was going about his business on a public car park in Edisford Road, Clitheroe, when two men on the pavement across the road began shouting racist remarks towards him.

PC Justin Brown said: “This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour which has left the victim feeling very upset and we are very keen to trace the people involved. If anyone saw what happened or has information that could help us to identify the two men responsible then I would ask them to contact us.”

The only description police have is that both men were white, and one was wearing a burgundy jacket with black sleeves.
