Theft of essential equipment from mountain rescue team in Burnley

Heartless thieves have stolen valuable equipment vital to a local mountain rescue team.

A number of expensive items were stolen from the van of a team member of the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue team which was parked in Farrington Road, Burnley, at around 9pm on Thursday.

These included a very expensive Pramac generator, iPad, an Huawei tablet, orange peli case, and Leatherman wave.

A spokesman for the group said: "Can we ask our followers around the Burnley, Accrington and surrounding areas to please report if they are offered or see any suspicious items being sold like this generator to contact either ourselves or Lancashire Constabulary."
