A Read woman has admitted arson folllowing a dramatic house fire in the village last month.
Angela Gott, of Whalley Road, pleaded guilty to arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered at Burnley Crown Court yesterday (Thursday).
Gott initially appeared before Blackburn Magistrates on Saturday, February 21st. She had been released from the Royal Blackburn Hospital where she had been treated for severe smoke inhalation following the inferno at the house in Whalley Road on Sunday evening, February 15th.
Police launched an investigation after 18 fire-fighters attended the blaze at the property at 10-45 pm on the Sunday evening. At the time, Gott was remanded in custody.
Another woman who was injured in the blaze, a 44-year-old Andrea Radford, has since been discharged from the Burns Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.
Gott will be sentenced at Burnley Crown Court and has been bailed until May 14th, pending pre-sentence and psychiatric reports.
