Police witness appeal after Clitheroe attacks

Police are appealing for information after a woman suffered facial injuries in a serious assault in Clitheroe.

The 26-year-old sustained a bruised eye, swollen nose and scratches to her face after allegedly being attacked by a man outside her home in Albion Street. The incident happened at 3am on Saturday and police say the victim was also grabbed by the neck, punched and kicked.

In another incident, which occurred at 2pm on Saturday, a 27-year-old man was attacked by a group of lads in Albion Street. The victim suffered minor injuries to his back. At 3-30 pm the same day, a games console and laptop were stolen from a house in Albion Street. Thieves forced their way into the property and escaped with the goods worth £740.

Insp. Hassan Khan, of Clitheroe Police, believes all three incidents are linked and is asking people who may have witnessed the attacks to call police on 101.
