POLICE are offering crime victims the chance to reclaim their property after jewellery worth thousands of pounds was recovered during a raid in Nelson.

Rings, watches, bracelets, earrings and other jewellery were seized after police searched a house in Stafford Street on September 11th.

Police believe the jewellery was stolen from homes in Brierfield, Nelson, Barrowford, Fence and Blacko from July this year.

Officers have released a list of items confiscated in the raid in the hope they may be recognised by their owners.

Det. Insp. Stuart Dixon said: “If someone recognises an item they believe to be theirs, they should get in touch with us and we will seek proof it is theirs before it is returned.

“It is a good idea for people who have valuable items in their homes to take photos of them so if they are unfortunately stolen, but then recovered, officers have a way of identifying the rightful owner.”

A list of items can be found by clicking on the news section of Lancashire Constabulary’s website – www.lancashire.police.uk/news

If you recognise an item, contact DC 3942 Kelly in Burnley CID on 0845 1 25 35 45.

Robert Wright (47), of Stafford Street, has been charged with three burglaries. He appeared at court on September 13th and was bailed to appear before Pennine magistrates on November 8th.
