Police are appealing for witnesses after a trails bike rider spooked horse riders in Sabden.

Two horse riders were passed by two trails-type motorbikes at just before 5pm last Tuesday, March 14th, on Trapp Lane.

“They were asked to slow down by the riders as they were coming too fast to pass and the bikes were noisy,” explained PCSO Dinah Bioletti.

She added: “The first rider slowed down and passed safely.

“The second rider didn’t slow down and revved his engine as he passed causing the horses to spook - one of them across the road towards the path of an oncoming vehicle.”

The first rider was wearing a white helmet, a two tone blue quilted jacket and white boots on a red bike.

The second rider was wearing a black horizontally quilted jacket, dark pants and dark trainers on a blue and yellow bike with yellow front mudguard.

Anyone who has information about these bikers and the incident is asked to call 101 and quote reference number 750 of March 18th.

The police would particularly like to speak to the second rider.
