Man in court over Longridge business raids

A man has appeared in court following a spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries that targeted Longridge businesses.

Dean Catt, 21, of no fixed abode, received an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months after committing a number of offences in Longridge.

He also received a 12-month supervision period with a rehabilitation activity requirement.

Catt, who had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to a number of charges, appeared before Preston Magistrates’ Court again on Friday after a pre-sentencing report was prepared.

He received the suspended sentence for carrying out a burglary at Stephen Taylor Opticians in Berry Lane and was ordered to pay £100 compenstation and £180 court costs.

He also received the same 18-week suspended sentence for carrying out a burglary at Premier Kitchens on Kestor Lane and at Lisa Michelle’s on Whittingham Road.

He was ordered to pay £1,100 compensation to Premier Kitchens and £140 to Lisa Michelle’s.

Catt recevied no separate penalty for a theft at the Co-op on Berry Lane.
