Man arrested in Nelson after police find 'numerous' wraps of suspected cocaine and cannabis

A 30-year-old man was arrested yesterday evening (Monday) after police stopped a vehicle and found suspected drugs.

Officers from Lancashire Constabulary's Taskforce spotted a vehicle of interest and stopped it on Lomeshaye Road in the town.

They then searched the man inside the car and discovered numerous wraps of what they believe to be cocaine and cannabis.

A spokesman for Nelson, Brierfield and Barrowford Police said: "This evening officers from the Taskforce have stopped a vehicle of interest on Lomeshaye Road in Nelson. One man who was stop searched inside the vehicle was located with numerous wraps of suspected cocaine along with cannabis. The 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and is now spending his evening in police custody.
