Man accused of £17,000 Whalley burglary


A 29-year-old man has appeared before magistrates in Blackburn charged with a burglary at a house in Whalley when property worth £17,000 was stolen.

Alfred Bryan, of Taylor Street, Preston, was remanded in custody until his next hearing, which will be at Preston Crown Court.

He is charged with burglary at a house in Clitheroe Road and theft of various property belonging to the house owners.

Miss Catherine Allan (prosecuting) said there had been extensive ransacking during the break-in on July 21st.
