Police have issued a CCTV image of three women they want to speak to in connection with the theft of £200 from a purse.

PC Justin Brown, of Clitheroe Police, said: “At 3-50 pm on Tuesday, June 17th, a woman placed her iPhone and black purse down outside Booths supermarket, Clitheroe, while she went inside. Realising what she had done, she immediately went back out to find it, but it had disappeared.

“CCTV shows the three females walk down the side of Booths towards the YMCA. One of them appears to take something out of her back pocket and place this on a small wall. This was the mobile phone, which was later recovered. All three then walk off towards the Bawdlands area of Clitheroe.

“Subsequently, the purse was handed into Clitheroe Police Station by staff from YMCA after it had been found in the store. All that is missing is £200.

“We need to know who the three females are then we can either eliminate them or investigate them.” If you know who these women are, please call police on 101.”
