Four people have appeared before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiracy to commit arson, the charges relating to an incident in Clayton-le-Moors in April 2014 when a semi-detached house was “ripped apart” by a blast.
Fire officers said at the time the house in Cumberland Avenue had been “blown to pieces” after being packed with flammables.
Two of the four defendants are also charged with conspiring to commit fraud by making a false insurance claim.
Ryan Ibbitson (20) and Kira Hausby (22), both of Colthirst Drive, Clitheroe, Natasha Housby (25), of Spencer Street, Accrington, and Samuel Adam Todd (25), of Elmwood Close, Accrington, are jointly charged with conspiring with each other to commit arson by burning down number 4 Cumberland Avenue.
Natasha Housby and Todd are jointly charged with conspiring to commit fraud by false representation intending to make a gain from an insurance company. Ibbitson and Todd are also charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis.
All four were sent on bail to Burnley Crown Court where they will appear on June 3rd.
