A YORKSHIRE Bank employee in Clitheroe has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with stealing cash from customers.

Joseph Mark Cross (22), of Church Lane, Whalley, denied six charges of theft by employee involving a total of £1,088. He was directed to stand trial at Preston Crown Court. Lynne Sayers (prosecuting) said the charges related to cash amounts paid in by customers at the Clitheroe Branch to cover credit card repayments.
