Traffic came to a standstill in Barrow this morning (Monday) after a vehicle flipped onto its side after a collision with a lamppost.

Police, paramedics and fire crews attended the scene in Clitheroe Road, near Whalley, after the accident at 8am today.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police, said: "It seems two cars were involved. A Mini Countryman was trapped between a fence after hitting a lamppost. There was also a Seat Leon involved, but we have no information as to the injuries suffered by the drivers at this stage."
