A Calderstones patient attacked a fellow resident and kicked him repeatedly when he was on the floor.

Blackburn magistrates heard that when the victim stood up he was bleeding from the mouth and several of his teeth fell out.

Scott Jerram (21), of Calderstones, pleaded guilty to assaulting Mohammed Jaffar causing him actual bodily harm. He was ordered to pay £400 compensation and £180 criminal court charge.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said a member of staff heard Mr Ahmed screaming and when he investigated saw Jerram standing over him kicking him around the chest and head.

Daniel Frazer, defending, said his client accepted punching Mr Ahmed prior to the behaviour witnessed by the member of staff.

“He is detained at Calderstones indefinitely by court order and will remain their for the forseeable future,” said Mr Frazer.
