DETECTIVES are hunting burglars who raided a farmhouse in the Ribble Valley and escaped with £18,000 worth of goods.

The raiders forced their way into the cottage in School Lane, Simonstone, via a window between 7-30 and 11-30 p.m. on Saturday.

Among the items taken from the house were an iPod Touch, a Canon camera, Sony digital camera, a black Wii games console, Wii and playstation games, two Technics turntable decks, an Apple iPad computer, a Sony digital recorder and various other expensive electrical items.

Having raided the house, the burglars used boltcutters to access an outbuilding and stole an Ifor Williams galvanised twin-wheel trailer worth £1,700 and a black Honda Cr250f motocross bike valued at £2,500.

Sgt Nigel Watson, of Clitheroe CID, is investigating the incident and is urging anyone who may have witnessed the thieves breaking into the house or knows the whereabouts of the stolen goods to come forward.
