Boy (13) had knife in Clitheroe Castle grounds

A teenager was cautioned by police after being caught in possession of a knife in the castle grounds.

The 13-year-old boy was warned about the dangers of carrying the weapon in public after it was spotted by a member of the public walking around the Castle Keep.

In a separate incident, £50 were stolen from the handbag of a bar staff member from the De Lacy Arms, in Whalley. The theft happened on Sunday evening. If you have information regarding the incident, call police quoting log number “EG2305”. Meanwhile, a thief escaped with four pairs of Adidas trainers and clothing to the value of £300 from The Original Factory Shop, in Shawbridge Street. Police are currently examining CCTV footage of the theft, which occurred between 2 and 2-30 pm on Sunday. Witnesses are urged to call Police on 101 quoting reference “EG2290”
