A post-mortem examination has been carried out on a body found in a remote area of Whalley.

The discovery was made on Tuesday evening in the area of Wiswell Moor Quarry, a police spokesman said.

The identity of the body is not yet known, but police have confirmed it was that of a man in his fifties from the Ribble Valley.

A police spokesman has said there is nothing to suggest that his death was suspicious and a post-mortem examination carried out revealed he died as a result of heart disease.
