A big hearted cyclist’s aim to raise £16,500 in a coast to coast ride, that will pay for treatment for a schoolgirl from Clitheroe with cerebral palsy, looks set to come true.
Lee Harbord has already managed to raise £11,000 since Christmas and the ride does not take place until May.
A series of fun days and other events have helped to swell the total that will pay for the treatment known as Advanced Biochemical Rehabilitation for Abbie Walmsley who is just six.
At the moment the treatment costs Abbie’s parents, Jordan Walmsley and Clare Frankland of Mytton View, £5,500 a year.
Family friend Lee was determined to do something to help and he set the £16,500 target that will cover the cost of the treatment for the next three years.
Lee, of Brook Street, aims to pedal 170 miles in one day on Saturday, May 14th, with six other riders and a fun day with a host of attractions will be taking place at the Rose and Crown pub in Clitheroe.
Anyone who would like to donate to the fund is asked to contact Lee on 07916902465.
