A charity will be dishing up breakfast treats on Saturday (May 20th) to help refugees in poor countries.
Clitheroe Community Church is holding a “Big Brekkie” event as part of Christian Aid Week. All donations will go towards refugees such as Nejebar, who fled Afghanistan, after her husband was threatened with torture and death for working as a teacher employed by the government.
The couple and their five children are now living in a camp in Greece, where Christian Aid is providing hot meals, water and washing facilities.
The brekkie will be held between 9-30 and 11am at the church, The King’s Centre, in Millthorne Avenue. There will be a selection of breakfast food and good coffee, plus plenty to keep the children entertained.
