This month’s winner of Shop Clitheroe is Mrs Christine Omerod, of Clitheroe, grandmother to four children with a fifth due soon.

Married to Brian and with two grown-up sons, Christine was born and brought up in Clitheroe and before retiring worked at Trutex in the town.

With more free time, Christine and Brian enjoy walking and visiting family and friends as well as reading.

Christine has had a Shop Clitheroe card since its launch by the Chamber of Trade and Commerce in August 2012.

She said: “This is great news for me as I am a regular customer at two of the scheme’s butchers and do most of my everyday shopping in the town. I frequently use my card and will be spending my vouchers there.”

Christine was presented with £50 Shop Clitheroe vouchers by Autumn Farley at Lather & Lite, Castlegate.

Autumn said: “Our customers love the Shop Clitheroe card and with promotion from the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times it has really helped to keep people’s money within the town, with very little cost to each business involved.

“We have been members at Lather & Lite since the Chamber started the scheme, and as it is free to all customers they have nothing to lose.”

Anyone wishing to join the scheme can pick up an application form at businesses displaying the Shop Clitheroe logo or by visiting
