THE Friends of Brungerley Park, Clitheroe, will hold their annual meeting on Tuesday November 29th, at The New Inn, Parson Lane, at 7-30 p.m.

Everyone with an interest in the park is invited to attend. During the past year, most of the renovation work has been carried out by Ribble Valley Borough Council using the DEFRA grant which the Friends group secured.

The top path has been hard surfaced and the steps to the river removed to create a smooth path for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The area around the bathing huts has been opened up, with steps down to the river cleared, new paths laid and benches there for people to watch the river.

New bushes have been planted to attract wildlife and The Friends erected an historical noticeboard with the help of donations. Both beds at the Waddington Road entrance have been cleared and replanted using generous donations.

All the snakehead benches on the middle path have been repaired and painted with help from local organisations.

Pauline Wood, on behalf of The Friends of Brungerley Park, commented: “This has been a great year for progress, but more needs doing. Next year we will be having regular work parties, so come along and be involved in restoring this beautiful park – your park.”
