A Clitheroe man was feeling “grand” after scooping £1,000 in the East Lancashire Hospice cash raffle.
Father Christmas drew the winning ticket, number 046220 belonging to Mr Norris, from more than 10,000 tickets.
Representatives from the draw sponsors Keenans were delighted to hand over the prize to Mr Norris at Keenans Estate Agents in Clitheroe.
The second prize of £100 was won by Mrs Ready, ticket number 078431, and the £50 third prize went to ticket number 159444.
Fund-raising manager Sharon Crymble said: “Mr Norris was very pleased to receive the cheque just in time for Christmas after his ticket was drawn at Matalan in Blackburn.
“The raffle is one way to help us to raise valuable funds to care for our patients and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part because their £1 spent on each ticket is a pound that will be going towards patient care.
“Thank you also to Keenans Estate Agents for sponsoring the event ensuring that the prize money did not have to come out of the pot of money raised in the raffle.”
Another cash prize will be up for grabs in the hospice’s annual raffle later in the year or for the chance to win £1,000 every week, join the hospice lottery at www.eastlancshospice.org.uk. (s)
