Clitheroe Lions Club was quick to respond to the Philippines typhoon appeal.

It has sent £1,000 to the Lions Clubs International Foundation General
Disaster Fund, specifically to help those caught up in the Philippines disaster.

This donation, and many other ones from Lions clubs in East Lancashire and further afield in Great Britain
and Ireland will assist in providing relief for the people involved in this horrendous tragedy.

The Lions Clubs International Foundation has to date approved $130,000 for Philippines relief, and the Lions of Orient and South East Asia have committed an additional $370,000.

These funds will enable Lions clubs in the Philippines to fund relief specifically by providing the basic needs of food, water, clothing and medicine.

Close to home, Clitheroe Lions Club has given Clitheroe Foodbank £250 to buy plastic boxes in which to hygienically store food pending distribution to those in crisis.
