The Rotary Club of Clitheroe is responding immediately to the Philippines typhoon disaster by buying another Shelterbox – an emergency kit providing shelter and essential food and supplies.
It is also appealing to local people for help in buying further Shelterboxes, with a street collection taking place in Clitheroe this Saturday, November 16th.
Howard Blackburn, of the Rotary Club of Clitheroe, said: “Shelterbox already had a team in the Philippines dealing with the earthquake that shook the islands last month.
“After the typhoon, they will be hard pressed to provide all that is required and need all the help we can provide.
“This direct support to the victims deals with most basic of needs for shelter and water.”
The club is a long-time supporter of Shelterbox. For more details of the charity or to make a donation contact Howard Blackburn on 07977042867 or any member of Clitheroe Rotary Club.
