Clitheroe death not suspicious say police

There was a heavy police presence in the town in the early hours of yesterday morning after a woman, named locally as Sharon White, collapsed and died on Monk Street at around 1-40am.

Scenes of Crime officers were called to the incident and an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were subsequently arrested.

Police officers were also called to another incident at Conway Avenue in Clitheroe which was connected to the Monk Street one.

A police spokeswoman confirmed this morning that two people had been arrested following the death but have subsequently been released without charge.

The deceased woman's death is not being treated as suspicious and a post mortem has been carried out.
