The sun shone for the annual Clitheroe Beer Festival last weekend.
Featuring over 59 real ales and eight ciders the event was held for the first time at St Michael and St John’s Parish Centre with the theme of “Pals Battalion” which showcased some of the breweries from towns and cities which raised local units which went on to fight their first battles on the Somme.
Around 1,200 visitors also got the chance to sample several beers brewed in East Lancashire along with some newcomers.
Live music was also a feature of the popular festival with duo Starifish, singer Matt Frayne and the Ranting Lads.
Organiser Martin Snelling thanked the spomsors Community Rail Leisure, Forbes Solicitors and Bowland Brewery. This year’s chosen charity for the festival was Help for Heroes.
