CHATBURN: Chance to meet new librarian

Scary surprise - trick or treaters had a scary surprise when they visited The Manor House Nursing Home, Chatburn. Scary decorations, clingy cobwebs, skeletons and bats decorated the home. Staff and residents dressed for the occasion and witches dished out treats from the cauldron to visiting children.

Fireworks - Fireworks were enjoyed by residents and staff of The Manor House, Chatburn, who were joined by families and villagers. Refreshments and mulled wine were enjoyed by all and helped the evening go with a bang.

Remembrance - A Remembrance service will be held on Sunday in Christ Church, Chatburn, at 11 a.m. Members of Chatburn and District Royal British Legion should meet at 10-30 a.m. by Chatburn Post Office to parade to the church for 10-55 a.m. Medals can be worn.

AGM - The annual meeting of Chatburn and District Royal British Legion will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd, at The Calf’s Head Hotel, Worston, at 7-30 p.m. For details or transport contact Denis and Mandy Brennan 01200 441551.

Library - Everyone is invited to a coffee morning at Chatburn Library on Wednesday, and to meet new librarian Gary Wilson from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Also to celebrate Lancashire Day on Saturday, November 26th, there will be an exhibition from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. of local heritage from archives, seasonal craft activities for the children, memorabilia from days gone by and much more.
