Charity runner Steven Johnson is inviting people to join him for the last of 365 daily five-mile runs for charity this holiday weekend.
Business consultant and dad-of-two Steven (41), who lives in Whalley, set himself the challenge of running five miles every day for a year – a total of 1,865 miles – to raise cash for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, because his daughters’ friend Amelia Dickinson is a sufferer.
His 365th run is on Bank Holiday Monday and he is making it a grand final by inviting others to join him in aid of the CF Trust.
“We’ve raised £9,000 so far, and I’ve now made the target £10,000,” Steven said.
“Anyone can join the run if they can give £10 or more as a donation or in sponsorship to the CF Trust.
“We’re got about 80 signed up already, and we could get another 100 on the day. Every runner will get a medal, and we’ve got special T-shirts available for £10.”
The runners starts from Foxfields at noon, and there are three-mile, four-mile and five-mile routes available, all led and marshalled.
As always, Steven will be running with his faithful companion, his whippet Betty.
Donations can be made on the day, or to www.justgiving.com/1865miles/
