A fun run which raises funds for cystic fibrosis sufferers is being held this weekend.
Inspired by 15-year-old cystic fibrosis sufferer Amelia Dickinson, of Whalley, The Amelia Cup will be held on Sunday in the Clitheroe Castle grounds.
The event is being supported by the running club, Running4CF.
One of the organisers is Amelia’s aunt Gail Bailey. She said: “We’re asking people to meet on the castle field at 9-30am on Sunday. The first run will start at 10-30am approximately. It would be great for as many people as possible to turn up and support the event.”
Family friendly, with something for everyone, the event, will offer several runs so that all abilities can take part. There will be The Amelia Cup run which will be presented to the fastest male and fastest female, a mile long “yellow” run where participants are invited to wear something yellow to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis with a prize for the most imaginative, a mile run for those under 10 years old, and finally a space hopper relay race, for teams of four people, across the castle field. People can enter more than one of the events. There is a minimum entry price of £10 (£25 for a family) or people can raise sponsorship.
