A Whalley businessman is celebrating after winning a prestigious national award.
Mr Martin Hay, who runs leading independent ocean and river cruise specialist “Go Cruise” and is chairman of Whalley Chamber of Trade, was delighted when he won the major travel award.
He was presented with “Homeworker of the Year 2014” by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA UK & Ireland), which represents more than 1,500 travel agencies across the UK and Ireland.
The CLIA Homeworker of the Year award not only reflects Martin’s success in arranging ocean and river cruise holidays for individuals and groups, but also recognises he is a great advocate for the industry, continually enhancing his own knowledge and looking for opportunities within all sectors of the industry.
On receiving the award, the father-of-two said: “My experience and passion for ocean and river cruising go back almost 25 years and thus to be unanimously chosen as the winner of this prestigious award by a panel of leading cruise line executives is a source of both great pride and satisfaction.”
Mr Andy Harmer, direct of CLIA UK and Ireland added: “I’m delighted Martin has been recognised for his truly outstanding work.”
