Around 650 walkers completed Saturday’s Pendle Pub Walk organised by the Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside.
The staggering number will have raised tens of thousands of pounds for Pendleside Hospice and Rotary Charities.
Not even the odd shower could dampen spirits as walkers of all ages completed a choice of an eight or 12-mile walk which took in a host of the area’s best pubs in the shadow of Pendle Hill.
Organiser Mr Grahame Trudgill said: “This year’s turnout has been simply staggering and we really cannot thank all the walkers, pubs and organisers enough for making this big community effort so successful.
“The event is now one of the biggest fund-raisers in the area and we are already making plans for next year.
“Many of the walkers were asking for details of the 2014 Pendle Pub Walk already – that shows just how popular it has become.”
