PLUMBING specialists were keen to avoid any water hazards after teaming up with James Hargreaves for a golf day in the Ribble Valley.

More than 40 colleagues and customers of the Burnley-based plumbers merchants converged on Clitheroe Golf Club for the annual event. Bill Bamber, of Bamber Plumbing and Heating, won the nine-hole individual competition – beating Andy Winstanley, of APH (Plumbing) Ltd, on a scorecard play-off.

The afternoon four-man team event also produced a tied finish, with the team of Lee Meeks (James Hargreaves), Paul Bretherton (VADO), David Rowson (Laycock Mechanical Services) and Brian Saunders (New Start Plumbing) coming out on top after having the better scores on the card.

James Hargreaves’ operations director Dave Eddison said: “A delicious carvery and prize-giving ceremony rounded off what was a very successful and competitive day of golf, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Even the weather held off, which was a real bonus!”
